by Klara Hanincova

If you are thinking of getting your pet’s holiday photos taken this year then do not think any more and stop by the New Rochelle Humane Society on Sunday, November 13th . I will be taking holiday photos from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Your $20 session fee will include an approximately 10 minute mini session and a 5×7 print of your choice. Additional prints and card options will also be available for purchase. Portraits will be taken on a first come, first served basis. What is really great is that every penny you spend will go directly to those who need it the most – the shelter animals. Oh, before I forget, Santa Claus will be there as well. Here are a few photographs from last year. Enjoy and see you soon!!!…:)

Halloween at the Miracle League of Westchester

by Klara Hanincova

It was my little friend Samantha and her parents who first introduced me to the Miracle League of Westchester, a league for children with physical and mental disabilities. Miracle League of Westchester is a very special place, run by great people who believe that every child deserves a chance to play baseball.

I was very lucky and honored to photograph their Halloween Event this year. It was a nice warm and sunny day filled with smiles, costumes and lots of fun.

Rumble the Puppy Bug

by Klara Hanincova

This morning I overheard two lady bugs that were polishing their dots in our garden talking about this strange but very cute bug that they saw as they were flying over the New Rochelle Humane Society the other day. Little they knew that the strange bug was little Rumble trying on his puppy bug Halloween costume….:)

If you are looking for a cute and a little silly puppy bug then do not look any further. Rumble is your bug!!!! ….:))

Extreme Makeover

by Klara Hanincova

It is always very sad to see people abandoning their pets and leaving them at the shelter. It is even more heartbreaking to see animals who were neglected by their owners. So was the fate of little Fluffy. Her family, who meant the world to her, brought her to the New Rochelle Humane Society because they had no time for her. Fluffy who is not even a year old and has been never groomed in her entire life suddenly found herself in a shelter full of strangers. There she was, with her long, dirty and severely matted fur, homeless and abandoned by those she trusted. To bring Fluffy a little comfort, Tiffany, a New Rochelle Humane Society employee, took on the not so easy task of cutting off all of Fluffy’s matted hair, trimming her nails and giving her bath. And voila! After a few hours of hard, but satisfying work sweet little Fluffy looked like a different dog!

Now Fluffy is in the safety of the shelter, surrounded by people who care, patiently waiting for a family to stop by who will provide her with what she needs the most: a loving forever home. The home she truly deserves.

Free Rabies Vaccination and Low Cost Microchipping Clinic at the New Rochelle Humane Society.

by Klara Hanincova

Yesterday the New Rochelle Humane Society hosted a FREE Rabies Vaccination and Low Cost Microchipping Clinic. The clinic was sponsored by the Westchester County Health Department and was available to Westchester County residents. A number of dogs and cats stopped by to get vaccinated and/or microchipped. While some of them could not care less about getting their shots, many of them did not seem to like the idea at all…:)

One rabie shot and a bag of cookies please.

Are you serious? You know how much I hate these things!

Rabie shot? Brrr! You have a wrong dog. I am just passing by.

Is it over yet?!

All I am saying is that we should get out of here!

No way!

They told me that we are going to the park!

Frankly, I am not afraid of shots!

Last weekend I was photographing my little friend Samantha. Although the photo shoot was about Samantha I could not resist to take a few photographs of her best friend Hobo.

Samantha’s parents adopted Hobo when he was a little puppy. Now Hobo is a big dog that is eleven months old but in his heart he is still a little pup. Always happy and enthusiastic Hobo fills everyone around him with positive energy.

Photographing Hobo was not an easy task but I loved every bit of it. Each time I sat down on the floor or on the grass he rushed towards me to lick my face and camera and to sit in my lap. Yes, I forgot to mentioned that Hobo is a lap dog, well at least according to him…:)

While playing with a soccer ball Hobo was determined that everybody has to participated including a photographer sitting on the grass. He insisted I will play by throwing the ball on the top of my back…:)

It was so much fun! Thank you Hobo and Samantha for a beautiful day!
